Luxurious boutique hotel with private beach in Rethymno town Crete.

Luxury boutique hotel for sale, tastefully renovated in 2017 with the finest modern standards of comfort and with an excellent location - literally on the beach of Rethymno town.

The building is a stone construction first built in 1862 as a summer house of Risvan Pasa (the local head from the Turkish Empire).
Its location, was selected to be right by the sea, for the owner to enjoy his summer swims. During the same period (1862 to 1920) the top floor was girls' school and shelter for poor girls.
It was abandoned later until the beginning of the 2nd World War. Till the 1960 the local fishermen used it as Pastopoiio (a place where they ferment fish). Now from the 1960 till the beginning of the 1980s the building turned to the industry of cloth making proceeding local wool.

In the beginning of 1990 it has been rebuild and transformed in a hotel. 12 small suites where made on the top floors and in the lower ground - right by the sea - the owners started the first Fish Gourmet Restaurant in the area.

Today, in 2017 - under completely new management the building was again fully renovated with new, modern infrastructure, technology and services to keep moving its history course.
The hotel is located at a distance of 1 km from the centre of Rethymno Town right on the beach.

The hotel features:

A ground floor of 280m2 (restaurant - bar, taverna, reception)

First and second floor of 150m2 each level consisting of 12 spacious maisonettes with all comfort, utilities and facilities someone might need.

Outside area, on a total land of 500m2 there are, private beach, swimming pool; Jacuzzi, exterior restaurant and bar.
The hotel offers stunning, uninterrupted views over the sea with spectacular sunsets and sunrises.

THE AREA

Rethymno prefecture lies on the western side of Crete, between the prefectures of Chania and Heraklion.

The prefecture is full of beautiful beaches, archaeological sites, Byzantine churches, quaint villages, and cosmopolitan resorts.

Rethymno town, the capital of Rethymno, is the center of activities. Strongly influenced by the Venetians, it boasts elegant architecture and a picturesque port.
The town still maintains its old aristocratic appearance, with buildings dating from the 16th century, arched doorways, stone staircases, Byzantine and Hellenic-Roman remains, narrow streets and the Venetian harbor filled with fishing boats and lined with taverns.

If you are in town on a Thursday or Saturday morning, you can check out the open-air market, called the Laiki, while those in town on Wednesday afternoon can visit the farmer's market.
Today the city's main income is from tourism and many new facilities have been built in the past 20 years. Agriculture is also notable, especially for olive oil and other Mediterranean products.
The northern and southern coasts are fringed with beautiful beaches that are absolutely worth the visit.

Rethymno's convenient aspect is that it is nearly equidistant from both main airports, Chania and Heraklion - meaning many more flight options!

Rethymno town is a rare combination of history and modern day luxury, with its Venetian-era old town, tropical beaches and exquisite Cretan cuisine.

Venture outside of town to see the spectacular gorges, mainland villages, and exotic beaches of the Libyan Sea in the south. A hike along Kotsifou Gorge, for example, is a great way to see Crete's historic sites and natural beauty in a day.

Of course, when you simply want to kick back and cool off at the beach, 12 km of golden coastline stretches along the east side of the city.

And don't worry if you get hungry or thirsty. There are plenty of fantastic beach bars and restaurants just begging to be discovered.
